The chorus, directed by Ernest Ehler, presented a well-chosen se- lection, one of their most successful numbers being the sea chantey, “What Shall We Do With the Drunken - Sailor?” Their rendition of “How Are Things in Glocca Morra” met with ilar approval, and was offered again as an encore. Considering the short time in which the group has been practic- ing, the men have made remarkable progress, and their program was both pleasing and worthwhile. Miss Dorianne Barnes assisted very ably at the piano. Mrs. Mary Berne-Ehler, beauti- fully accompanied by Mrs. C. L.| Popejoy, gave her customary pleas ant performance, especially in her | second group of solos. She sang Grieg’'s “With a Waterlily” and “L'heure Exquise” by Hahn with particular grace and charm. She responded to applause with two en- cores, Richard Hageman's “Do Not portunity to appreciate and enjoy the talents of the men of Juneau | who like to sing. | It is to be hoped that the chorus wul BE STARIED,HRST CON(ERT GIVEN will keep up the good work, and | . that many more such concerts wil be forthcoming - ELKS TURKEY SHOOT BIG EVENT TONIGHT; PUBLIC IS INVITED The big event tonight is the Elks turkey shoot starting at 8 o’'clock | in the Elks Auditorium and the| public is invited Therg will be turkeys and chick- ens to take home for those who want quick delivery and orders will | be issued to others. | The proceeds of the shoot go to| the Elks Christmas Charity Fund | and also to the children's annual -Christmas party to be given at the | Capitol Theatre on the afternoon | of December 20. { B il | HOSPITAL NOTES Admitted to St. Ann's Hospital | vesterday for medical attention were William Williams and Mrs. | Jack McDaniel.
