Six cars have shown up for trials so far. Derby officials say the importance of these runs cannot be | stressed too much because in almost every case improvements on the cars shown to be needed are urged to get Lheir soap cers out for the trial runs just as soon as the steering apparatns and brakes are installed, since it is easier to make improvements before the cars have been enclosed and the body covered. Out last evening were Bruce Cas perscn, who had two-hoy power for pushing him back up the hill, Rickie Smith, first Class C entrant to show up; Jack Boddy with the most complete car to appear so far; Dick & Keithahn, last year’s second place winner, and Jerry Wade, who has his car nearly finished but raced on | the bottom part only last night. Next evening for trial runs will be Monday, July 14, 7:30 o’clock. Derby officials wish to thank the people living on Twelfth Street who removed their parked cars from the street during the trial runs. - R — e o o o o -~ .o WEATHER REPORT Temperatare for 24-Hour Period Ending 7:30 o'Clock This Morning In Juneau—Maximum, 54; minimum, 49.
