Many homes are without water because of frozen pipes, but no ma have been frozen and water circulating to all parts of town. Caution is given, how- ever, to keep faucets open to avert pipes freezing. Installation of a temporary flume across Gold Creek up Basin Road restored the supply of water from the AEL & P power flume, which had been shut off when the 10-inch wocden main had frozen at that crossing. Telquist, who on or about February 10 will become Officer in Charge of the ACS Ju- neau office, has received his per- manent appointment as First Lieu- tenant in the Regular Army, the War Department announces. This appoiniment was the first of such to be awarded to an ACS officer on the basis of the new Regular Army commission examinations. Graduated from Lincoln High Zchool, Seattle, in 1932, Capt. Tel- quist served from 1934 to 1937 as {ireman and machinist in the U.
