But the old time American spirit still pervades, though there has been change. Preparing the Chrisimas feast takes a fraction of the time it used to. This generation’s mothers stay younger because their tasks have been light- ened. The men in the family are no longer beset by fears, but hearty and happy, secure. The children too, have a voice in the gay holiday affairs, and as always, it is about them that all the season's gaiety revolves. Christmas is America! What a wonderful time it is, and how happily we talk over the Christmases of former years, when mother was a girl; and the children’s eyes blaze with wonder when granddad tells of how things were in his time. Christmas in America! Let us all enjoy it to the full — in the old time American spirit. Alaslka Electric Light & Power Co.
