Presiding at the debut of the bubble-blowing game last night was Betty Gruening, Alaska's First Lady, Jr. She was assisted by Char- lotte Howlett and Lou Levy, who supplied the actual blowing labor. Huntington Gruening and the O'Riellys stood by in supervisory | capacity. Leakages in jealously guarded information last night seemed to indicate that the Baranof bubbles are nothing as ordinary as the pipe and soap variety. The bubbles appear to blow off a quasi-magical little ring and be propelled in pro- fusion by a mild typhoon issuing from a point at the right of the orchestra platform. Although bubbles will continue to blow tonight, the game has not yet heen officially docketed as ‘a part of the Baranof O'Rielly’s program and at the moment great mystery seems to becloud the exact prin- ciples of what makes the bubbles to blow. Whether or not the cus- tomers will be able to blow bubbles from their tables has not quite been clarified. Naturally, last studded atmosphere anof patrons and higher things.
