The Rickety Dinks (formerly known as Juneau High Seconds) playing their second and probably last game of substitution for the Cyane team which is expected to return to Juneau shortly, fought a hard but loosel ecuted game against the Signac The Signacs, with scoring continuing to be poor in proportion to played a calmer, telling game than youngsters. Individual Play There was little exp: ing on either side. Individual p! ing was not spectacular in any in- stance, and the mo: that can be >, was that est of sport- general, fouling on both sides w it a minimum. Gold- stein, Heller and Galbraith on the Signac team were high scorers with two field goals and one free throw each. Kessnick, Krogman and Mc- Guire and Stewart were especially cutstanding both in shooting and Lass werk. PAA’s tall men were far too slow on their feet to keep up with the fast moving Subporte Chooting on the Clipper team was good when the players had plenty of room, but when Subport guards cut too close, most moving shots went wild or fell short of the bas- ket. manship. In PAA Defense Game PAA plays a semi-zone game and the players last defense night often appeared to prefer sticking to . . their assigned opponent instead of following the ball. When PAA fin- ally, as it usually does, started to “come alive” time was running out. At the half the score stood 13 to 25 in Subport’s favor; at the third quarter, 21 to 33. PAA held the Subporters, by all cdds far the su- perior team, to only four more points in the fourth quarter, and surged up eight more points for their own side. Whether this was due to Sub- port’s second string players, or whether PAA has some secret form- ula for end-of-the-game improve- ment snap, may never be known. The Clipper team looked twice as goed in the fourth quarter as it did in the three preceeding ones, but this phenomena has occurred in ev- ery game PAA has played to date. Subport High Pointers Wilson with 11 points was high man on the Clipper team. On the Subport five Kessnick and McGuire tied for high ranking honors with 9 points each, and Stewart and Krogman, for second place with 8 points each. Last night's attendance at the games was probably the highest it has been since opening njght of the league.
