The provision affects pay re- |ceived from Dec. 31, 1940 to the cfficial termination of the war. The House conferees also agreed {to two other Senate provisions for | veterans. These were: 1—A three-year extension of time for commissioned officers to pay accumulated taxes on their service | pay, without interest, if the taxes jare paid in 12 quarterly install- ments. 2—A similar extension of time !for payment of taxes attributable to pre-service earned income for 1940 or 1941, which became due after the taxpayer entered jarmed services.
