Miss Marie Hoffman of the Wheatland Chapter No. 11, Wheat- land, Wyoming, gave a beautiful reading, theme of which centered around degree work of the Order, for which she received generous ap- | plause. After the exemplification of lhe‘ degrees, Mrs. Lander spoke briefly on { the teachings cf the Order, the work | of the organization in the States, of her visits to other subordinate Chap- ters antl of the war work of the Crder as a whole and as individuals. On behalf of Nuggett Chapter No. 2, Mrs. Bach presented Mrs. Lan- | der with a truly Alaskan gift—a pin | consisting of ‘the gold pan with pick and shovel. Mrs. Lander was most pleased with the gift and | thanked the members and proudly displayed it. As usual, the Douglas women whipped up their best cakes, made their favorite sandwiches, ordered lots of ice cream and rounded up a first-calss committee to serve it, and needless to say, all this added up to a most enjoyable evening. | This evening Mrs. Lander will be | honored at an Officers’ Reception at the Scottish Rite Temple, with Mrs. ! Lynna Holland in charge. All mem- bers are invited to go between the hours of 8 o'clock and 10 o'clock to meet the Most Worthy Grand' Matron. | Members are also reminded to-] night is the deadline for placing ! reservations for the dinner which will be served Thursday night.
