Written and directed by Ripley, a man long associated with hit films, “Voice in the Wind” is a dramatically moving tale of two lov- | ers separated by the brutality of the Nazis who overrun their land. Ripley has captured the poignant exper- iences of the two lovers in a tale that rivals in dramatic intensity such love classics as “Tristan and Isolde” and “Romeo and Juliet.” Francis Lederer, one of the most popular stars of the present day, is seen in a moving and touching role as the brilliant pianist, Jan Volny, ‘v,ho is driven to the strange and brooding shores of a foreign land where, half-mad, he searches for his lost love. Co-starred with Lederer is Sigrid Gurie, who plays Marya, the pianist's sweetheart. In a role that requires her to rise to heights of unparallel- ed dramatic intensity, Miss Gurie develops in warmly human terms the igirl parted from her love. i P |SIXTEEN JUNEAU BOYS 60 WEST; ROAD WOR Sixteen local high school bays [have left for Valdez where they are ing Center in Seattle.
