ANDERSON'S HOUSE SHUT DOWN Echoes of the White Slavery case were heard U. 8. District Court Saturday. | Judge George F. Alexander spoke‘ to the effect that he has heard that the “bawdy house” conducted L 4n Sitka by Mrs. Anderson, who | was convicted at the present Ju- ' neau Court term, is still being operated. The judge ordered at- torneys concerned in the case to investigate and stated that if the reports are found true he intends to issue a bench warrant against Mrs. Anderson and the property— “Maude Anderson | in declaring the house a nuisance and |’ ordering it abated. “That house has been®a sore m‘ " #he side of Sitka long enough,” Judge Alexander proclaimed. At the request of Assistant U. S. Attorney Ropert L. Tollefson, the court ordered that the $25,000 ap- peal bond ordered for Mrs. An- derson should be made “supercede- ous” to the amount of the $2,500 fine Mrs. Anderson was sentenced to pay following ser conviction| heere. , The court also ordered that Mrs. Anderson be enjoined from cumbering any of her assets until| such time as the fine shall be paid or $2,500 cash posted in escrow with the court to protect its pay-; ment in case her appeal fails. Attorney M. E.
