District Court here, against both Winifred and Horace Ibach The jurors are reported to have reached eement at 10 o'clock this morning, after nearly 12 hours of ‘delib jon. At one point, at the jury’s request, opposii counsel and the defendants were called back to the courtroom, while Judge George F. Alexander clarified points with to the law in the case, This - unusual procedure occurred at about 6 o'clock last evening, after the jurors had been striving to reach a verdict for more than three hours. The verdict, as signed by Fore- man Bert F. McDowell, found the Py regard co-defendants guilty of kidnaping, | assault with a dangerous weapon, and burning of a gasboat with in- tent to injure the owner. On the kidnap charge each of the defend- ants is subject to sentence of from one to 10 years in a penitentiary The conviction of destroying a boat makes them each liable to pris sentences of from three to 10 years Three alternative penalties are forded by the statute on assault a dangerous weapon. On that ¢ they may each be sen- tenced to from months to 10 years in prison, or receive jail sen- tences of from one month to one year, or be fined & minimum of $100 to a maximum of $1,000.
