How- | ever, for the past two years I have |not been approached for collection of dues or renewal of membership, |and my membership was auto- matically discontinued. I assumed i‘lhe reason for this was that I had no one in my organizatfon of the so-called stronger sex to represent me, and women members were not encouraged to attend. Now, as to my opinion in the mat- { ter, that is something different. I believe the Chamber of Commerce in Juneau, or anywhere else for that matter, should be composed of the business people of the community, be they men or women. Since, in Juneau, there are approximately as many women as men operating legitimate businesses, exclusive of beauty salons, why should we be excluded? Until the item in The Empire was called to my attention, I knew nothing about being considered for membership at this time, as no one from the Chamber has called on me in this matter. However, I'll gladly renew my membership or file ap- plication for a new one, provided I ‘havc the cooperation of the other business women in Juneau, and we can attend the Chamber meetings without feeling we are encroaching on territory designated for men only. i Let the Chamber’s Membership Committee get busy.
