Quite the opposite. For nearly two years the club; been serving coffee, with waffles or cakes and cookies, at {5:30 on Sundays. But it wasn't until |several months ago that we could count regularly on the one feature which, more than any other, makes these affairs particularly appeal- ing to the large number of men (even if so flattering an appraisal |copious supply of FRESH MILK,— | 'STARTS IN JUNEAU farewell snack, you might call it,! to a fifth early Tuesday morning in the canteen. While we were busy | at our desk, the fellows were told | to serve themselves with whatever they wanted. Shortly we were asked to come to the canteen so they | could settle for what they'd had. There before our incredulous eyes were lined up the five fellows and a row of no less than twenty-eight —28—empty milk bottles. The ex- planation was simple: “We don't know when thére might be a short- ! age, 'md we're not taking any! chances Often we are told by new men in Juneau: “You have the nicest USO we've ever seen.” That's pleas- ant to hear; and we'd like to think | the club deserved such praise.
