He completed his jump training two weeks ago and at present is taking a six-week basic training, after which he will be en- titled to a furlough before going overseas. Glenn received his wings and boots at the graduation of the largest class consisting of 1200 men, ever to grad- uate from the Ft. Benning Para- chute School., After being stationed in Alaska for the past two years, principally on St. Paul of the Pribilof Islands, Private Edwards left Ft. Richardson in June on his first trip to the States since his birth at Seattle. He trav- eled by way of Canada to Ft. But~ ner, N. C., where he was stationed for a while before being sent to Ft. Benning. Says Glenn: “When I made my first jump I was scared to death, but now I like it—and being a para- trooper gets in your blood.” He also states he is acquiring a good old southern drawl.
