Blain, 73, who remembered by oldtimers, passed away at Seattle recently after a lingering illness. From 1905 to 1913, Blain resided in Douglas, where he was manager of the Douglas City Wharf for years. Following his departure from the north, Blain went to Seattle with his family. He is a former purser on ships of the Alaska Steamship Company, and was employed for many years by the Pacific Steamship Company and by the Salmon Terminal (‘ol- poration in recent years.
