The booklet, entitled “Spruce Ruo( Basketry of the Alaska Tlingit," filled with illustrations and instrue- | tions on this art of the Alaskan | Indian. Mrs, Paul is very much in- terested in the preservation of In- | dian culture and is doing everything | possible to explain it in a simple manner so that the public may be- come familiar with each phase of | the ancient art. l The Territorial Museum has a magnificent collection of old and | modern baskets, many of which are | illustrated in the booklet. Years ago Lt. G. T. Emmons made a collection of pattern units of design, so com« | plete that only one new unit nppenn lin all the baskets in the museum. Mrs. Paul used his collection as a basis to beginher work, Mrs, Paul’s husband, William L.
