Most popular was the community sing, held from 3 to 4 o'clock and led by J. J. Fargher, with Mrs. Carol Beery Davis accompanying on the piano. MILL IS NOW ACTING POSTMASTER Mrs. Minard M\ll today assumed |the position of Acting Postmaster for Juneau. Her appointment, made several weeks ago in Washington, D.C., became effective today. Mrs. Mill is a long-time resi- dent of Juneau, having been here since 1915, She was employed by the Post Office from 1917 tol924, a period of seven years, and entered the employ of the Office last summer. Mrs. Mill will serve as Acting Postmaster until a new Postmaster is selected. Post SENATOR FROM THIRD DIVISION ARRIVES HERE H. H. McCutcheon, Territorial Senator from the Third Division, arrived in Juneau early this morning by steamer and is staying at the Gastineau Hotel. Speaker of the House in the last session, McCutcheon is a veteran legislator. Heé is a retired Alaska Railroad man and rseides in Anchor- age. He ran unopposed in the fall election.
