The drive will continue indefin- itely and is called the Juneau Waste Salvage Project. It is sponsored by five civic organizations and headed by the Advisory Committee. Active work in the Drive is being handled by the local branch of the Salvation Army ‘While the response had been fair- ly good to date, everyone is urged to feel that the campaign is a per- sonal affair and a matter of the utmost importance. Huge industrial plants through- out the United States are hunger- ing for want of junk, in the form of many waste salvage materials that can be turned into tanks, munitions, guns and planes. Salvage Depot Salvage Depot is located on Front and Main Streets, Cowling and Davlin’s garage. If one prefers, drive to the rear where a driveway will facilitate unloading or carry the salvage to the front door. In case it is locked, leave the bundles in the shed at the rear. It is suggested that everyone place a carton or container in a convenient place so that when an article on the salvage list is found it can be placed in it immediately and taken to the Salvage Depot when filled. If this is inconvenient, load some in the car on every trip downtown. If you have no car, ask your neighbor to take a load down. Or a group could go together and send it to the Depot in a taxi for |a small sum. “Get In The Scrap” Day Each month there will be a “Get In The Scrap” day which will be announced later. The thing to re- member is that this is an im- portant campaign that will provide essential materials with which to win the war. It also serves the double purpose of allowing people to get rid of all the unused articles they have been saving for some vague purpose, cluttering up corn- ers, closets and yards. next door to i and Court Reporter John Newman, left for Ketchikan today to hold a short civil term of court there. “Let’s all get behind this project and make it a huge success,” Adjt.
