Cold dry air continued over the interior. Snow or rain had fallen over Southeast Alaska and from the Aleutian Islands, along the west coastal area to Barrow. The greatest amount of precipitation was 78 hundredths of an inch which was recorded at Ketchikan in the form of rain. The highest temperature yesterday afternoon was 4’1‘ degrees at Ketchikan and the lowest last night minus 43 degrees at Fairbanks, Broken clouds to overcast with local rain or snow show- | ers, moderately low ceilings and poor to good visibilities prevailed over the Juneau-Ketchikan airway this morning. i The Saturday morning weather chart indicated a center of lmv‘ pressure in the Gulf of Alaska which was expected to remain almlm' stationary. A low pressure center of 28.65 inches was located to thz northeast of Attu and was expected to move northeastward into the northern Bering Sea area during the next 24 hours.
