The argument about the assessed | valuation of the bullding started last week, when W. D. Gross, owner. of the property, appeared before the councilmen sitting as a board of tax equalization and protested the valuation ‘of $130,000 on’ real prop- crty and $25, on personal prop- erty, which had been Gross at that timé asked {hat tHe valuations be reduced to $01583,14 for real property and $14,400 for personal property.. The counciimen agreed to lower the 'waluation to{: $100,000 for real property, tize build-: ing, and $20,000 ‘for -fixtures, .the personal property in' the: building.
