The disorders ceased when the Army convoy came down the boule- vard. ‘The occupation of the great air- craft manufacturing center took | place with simplicity. and with just ordinary routine of the military as the strike entered the fifth day. Some of the 12,000 workers en- tered the plant in response to the Government’s request for resump- tion of plane operations. The strikers are demanding a min- imum of 75 cents an hour, an in- crease of 25 cents over the present wage scale, and an increase of 10 cents an hour for all workers now | paid 75 cents or more. The dispute has’ been in progress for several weeks but the strike order did not go into effect until last.
