Rain and snow had fallen during the previous 24 hours from Cordova to the Aleutian Islands and at some points over the Bering Sea and over the extreme south- ern portion of Southeast Alaska. The greatest amount of precipita- tion was 1.11 inches, which was recorded at Cordova. Temperaturcs were wagmer over the central and northern portions of Alaska, coldest being minus 12 at Barrow this morning. Mostly overcast s with moderately low to high ceilings and good visibility with loc rain or snow in the south portion prevailed this morning over t Juneau-Ketchikan airway. The Wednesday morning weather chart indicated that an cluded front was moving eastward from a line extending from a low center of 957 millibars (28.26 inches), which was located at 48 degrees north and 169 degrees west, southwestward into lower latitudes. A second low center of 984 millibars (29.06 inches) wus located at 52 degrees north and 143 degrees west. A pressure was relatively low over the Bering Sea and northeastward over northern Alaska. A high pressure area was centered to the south- east of Alaska, and a second center of 1022 millibars (30.18 inches) was located at 29 degrees morth and 148 degrees west.
