Cot- ta, 27, Oakland, Cal, who saved the life of a man in the Merced River near Newman, Cal, in July, 1938. She saved John Van Run of Redding, who grappled with two men rescuers in a manner which threatened to drown all three. Mrs Cotta pulled Van Run’s legs loose from rescuers, managed to tow him through a stiff current to safety. At the Catholic Church of the Nativity, there will be Holy Mass at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning. At the First Church of Christ Scientist, the service will be at 11 o'clock tomorrow forenoon and the subject will be “Thanksgiving.” Thanksgiving Day will be ob- served in Holy Trinity Cathedral by a celebration of the Holy Eu- charist (“Holy Thanksgiving”) at 10 o'clock. The service will oe full choral, with all members of koth choirs participating. The Junior Choir will meet for re- hearsal tonight at 7 o'clock. There will be no Adult Choir rehearsal this week.
