TO GIVE YOU BETTER SERVICE" REDMAN TR:’\VELS ‘ ness. B Subseribe ror ’l'he &nmre Herbert C. Redman, Chief Un- Skakmg le By Sundayon Mendenhall Old Jack Frost, Mother Goose and the Taku Winds, in fact Old Man Winter himself, have been sparring around at Mendenhall Lake and it is still a question who will be awarded the title of “Champ.” Jack Frost started in last Sat- urday, making a creditable showing by placing three-quarters of an inch of glassy ice on the lake. Mother Goose got in a punch or two from which poor Jack hasn't fully recovered. Shorlly after Mother Goose entered the rink, lanky Taku Wind showed up. He immediately caused a glacier move- ment which much to Jack Frost's delight caused a partial flooding of his ice in the center of the lake, and he immediately got busy and glazed this over again, resulting in 2 3/4 inches of ice. The indications are now that he will give us some skating opporfunities by Sunday. 1 At any ratr\ there has been a 1940. THE.
