These stories included the Bristol Bay salmon pack for 1940, the organization of the Alaska National Guard, the settlement in the local court of a fishirap suit involving more than a third of a million dollars, the setting up of a test refugee colonization camp, the Army’s plan for a Juneau airbase, the moyv- ing of a force of 950 men to build an Army field on Annette Island, and numerous others.
