No mention of it, this once. hasn’t seen a movie in two months. She’s going on a binge—she’s going to see lots of movie and catch up. “When Tomorrow Comes.” She isn’t too happy about it. She wants to do something serious again. Like “Madame Curie,” University bought it for her, but Universal had to sell it—to M-G-M-—when the studio was re- organizing. Garbo is to do it. Once, with only a mediocre picture to her discredit, she haunted RKO executives until they agreed to test her for the role of Sabra Cravatt in “Cimarron.” She won the role—and a career. She didn’t know any better then, maybe. She just decided she wanted that role, and she talked herself into it. She couldn't talk herself into “Madame Curie” now. After all, she’s not with Metro, she understands about contracts and commitments and well, she’s looking for another serious role. She'd like to sing more too. Her fan mail says the fans want her to sing, but the producers don't read her fan mail. She wants to do only two pictures a year. She wouldn't go to see anybody (herself included) in more than two a year. Irene Dunne is a nice gal —and a wow with a swatter. sign a truce.
