John W. Troy has been advised by Thomas B. Bourne, Chief of the Airways Engineering Division. Bourne said his Division would attempt to construct the three sta- tions and place them at least in temporary operation before weather conditions make it necessary to close down activities next winter. Stations at Cantwell, Talkeetna and Anchorage also are on the pro- gram for the fiscal year and the Authority hopes to. have them in- stalled this summer, Bourne said. Work Near Juneau Similar work. is planned at Cor- dova, Yakataga, Yakutat and on smaller stations in'the vicinity of Juneau and Ketchikan in the latter months of 1939 or early next year. Only radio transmitting facilities are to be. constructed in the first monthe of work in the Territory, Bourne said, with control quarters, landing fields and personnel living quarters, where required, to be com- pleted in 1940. Patrol Pilot B. W. Davis and ra- dio personnel will leave Washing- ton in June and arrive in Alaska about July 1 to set the CAA pro- gram under way, Bourne said.
