A ridge of high pressure extended from the Hawaiian Islands northeast tothe Pacific Northwest, and the bar- ometer was also comparatively high over extreme northern Alaska and the Bering Sea. Light precipitation fell over the Aleutian Islands and light to heavy rain occurred from Southeast Alaska south along the coast to the Columbia River. Fair weather prevailed over the rest of Alaska, central Canada, Oregon and California. Temperatures were cooler over western and Southeast Alaska last night with little change reported from stations in the Interior, Kodiak Island Cook Inlet and Prince William Sound regions.
