NOW PLAYING ‘AT CAPITOL ‘When Lovv::—ls'Young' and ‘Behind the Headlines’ on Local Screen A sprightly romantic comedy, Universal's “When Love Is Young,” opens today at the Capitol Theatre, featuring Virginia Bruce, Kent Taylor and Walter Brennan. The picture blends the pathos of a deep- ly human experience with the bril- liance of Broadway's laughter and song. In “When Love Is Young,” Miss Bruce sings and dances to tunes especially written for her by Jimmy McHugh and Harold Adamson The picture sed on a McCall Magazine story, “Class Prophecy,” deals with an obscure country girl who, enabled by classmates and ignored by the school here she ad- mires, accompanies her uncle to New York to study singing There she meets a theatrical press agent whose exploits, for all their hilarity, land her in jail, but even- tually help her to musical comedy stardom. Returning to her home town she is disappointed in finding that the school hero she had looked forward to meeting again is merely a small town failure. Also playing tonight is “Behind the Headlines,” featuring Lee Tracy which brings the adventures of a roving neys broadcaster to the screen for the first time. Diana Gibson has the feminine lead opposite the fast-talking Tra- cy, and Philip Huston, Donald Meek and other favorites are in the supporting cast. As a radio report- er Tracy scoops his newspaper ri- vals by sending news flashes from the scene of action over a tiny short wave apparatus to the main broadcasting station. This is said to be one of the best performances of the actor’s career. Richard Rosson directed the RKO Radio production GEORGE HELLERICH RETURNING NORTH| George Hellerich, well-known mining man of the Second Division and former member of the Terri- torial Legislature, is returning nortlv iaboard the Baranof after spending the winter in California.
