Ickes announces that oil and gas prospecting permits are eligible for extension to December 31, 1939, under the provisions of the act of August 26, 1937 (Public No. 388) only if (1) they are outstanding on December 31, 1937, and if (2) they properly fall, on December 31, 1937 within one of the following classes: (a) Permits which have been com- mitted in whole or in part to a cooperative or unit plan of de- velopment and operation that on December 31, 1937, has been ap- proved or prescribed by the Sec- retary of the Interior, or is in process of revision or reconsid- eration pursuant to prior review, without rejection, in the Depart- ment of the Interior; POR RENT — Duplex 2-room apt. electric range, in a door bed-hath. Phone 244, (b) rermits whicn, together with one or more other permits, have been committed in whole or in part to a cooperative or unit plant of development and opera- tion for the whole of any single oil or gas pool or field (or rea- sonably compact area) that was filed before J: ry 1, 1937, and rejected pursuant to instructions of said Secretary: (¢) Permits under which approved drilling was actively in progréss at some time within the calendar year 1937; (d) Permits under which at least one well shall have been drilled to a depth of not less than two thousand feet subsequent to Aug- ust 21, 1935; (e) Permits which have been i sued subsequent to August 1635, and for which timely com- pliance has been made with the drilling requirements of section 13 of the act of February 1920, to the extent required by Decem- ber 31, 1937, or, in the absence of such timely drilling, for which an acceptable cooperative or unit plan of development and opera- tion has been filed on or before said date. Those Not Eligible Permits still outstanding on De- cember 31, 1937, which do not fall within one or more of classes (a) to (e), will not be considered eli- gible for further extension and will cease and terminate automatically without notice of cancellation on the final date of their current term. Permits whose initial two-year term expired on or prior to August 21, 1837, or whose extended term ex- pired or will expire prior to Decem- [ {ber 31, 1937, are eligible for exten- sion to December 31, 1937, if appli- jcation for extension has been or will be filed before the final date of their current term and if equi- ties warranting extension exist in conformity with the existing depart- mental practice with respect to ex- tensions. Permits which were issued subsequent to August 21, 1935, and whose initial two-year terms expire prior to December 31, 1937, are ex- tended to that date by the act of August 26, 1937, to enable compli- ance with the conditions specified in clause (e) of the act of August 26, 1937.
