B. Foss Co., architects that Ithey would have plans for the new school ready by August 1. That com- ceived to the letter sent out by city clerk Charles Tuckett, to the dif- ferent architectural firms in Ju- neau inviting them to present com- petitive plans and specifications for the project. Messrs. Troast and As- sociates, architects, were present to again argue for exclusive right to the work on the ba: of past serv- ice to the city, without introducing anything new as evidence. A letter from Delegate Dimond enclosing a copy of the general pro- \visions df the PWA relief building projects, which were read, shows that for the next two years, 39 mil- {lion dollars for loans and 60 mil—| ‘lion dollars for grants had been ap-| propriated, just for school projects, from which it is evident that the free grant for Douglas should be| \forthcoming without possibility of \Tailure and news of the allotment is expected here daily. With such certainty of funds and | plans ready within the week, ac- tual construction on the school ,should not be long starting now. Brighter Future Plans were discussed by the Coun- erably brighter. Negotiations are al- ready in progress at the present lime to make it possible for the Douglas Fisherfes Co. to double| its pack.
