This has a viyvid story, highlighted by spec- tacular action, scenic grandeur, shooting thrills. — - — PAF Takes Over Canning Plant, Belliy_lgllam Bay Corporation Starts Work- ing for Goal of Million and One Half Cases BELLINGHAM, Wash., July 9.—} Building toward a goal of an an- nual season pack of one million and a half cases, the Pacific American Fisheries has taken ownership of the cannery site here of the Bel- lingham Cannery Company. Under the terms, the PAF, the world’s largest packer of salmon, will handle the pack of the Belling- ham Cannery Company, although the latter company, headed by R. A. Welsh, Jr., will not lose its iden- |— tity as a corporation. The deed filed in the County Court House carried stamps show- |ing the value of the tramsaction to be $38,500. Just what other assets | taken over are not disclosed. Conversion of the PAF cannery | buildings in South Bellingham into a mammoth warehouse is planned |and increased storage facilities are already underway. Improvements land alterations will be completed {in time for the arrival of salmon | from Alaska. Juneau, July 10. — Sunrise, 3:09 a.m.; sunset, 9:01 p.m. WEATHER SYNOPSIS High barometric pressure prevailed this morning from the Gulf of Alaska southward to latitude 20 degrees, the highest reported pressure |being 3044 inches over the Pacijic Ocean at latitude 38 degrees and !longitude 142 degrees. Low pressure prevailed over the Aleutians and eastward over the region of latitude 50 degrees to longitude 160 de- grees, the lowest reported pressure being 29.40 inches over the Pacific Ocean at latitude 48 degrees and longitude 164 degrees. This general pressure distribution has been attended by precipitation over the south- (ern Bering Sea and over Southeastern Alaska, followed by clearing this morning over the extreme southern portion of Southeast Alaska and by generaly fair weather over the remainter of the field of observation. Abnormally warm weather continued at New York and Washington \this morning, the temperature at 8 a.m. being 82 deg s and 80 de- grees, respectively. Cool weather prevailed at Barrow, the temperature lat 1:30 a.m. being 30 degrees.
