WEATHER SYNOPSIS The barometric pressure was low this morning from the Prince William Sound region southward over the Pacific Ocean to latitude 30 degrees north, the lowest reporied pressure being 29.20 inches at latitude 46 degrees and longitude 148 degrees. High “pressure pre- vailed from the Aleutian Islands southward to Midway Island also from the Bering Sea region eastward to the MacKenae Valley. This general pressure distribution has been attended by precipitation along the coastal regions from Unalaska southeastward to British Co- lumbia also over the Tanana Valley, and by generally fair weather over the western and northern portions of Alaska. Unseasonably cold weather continued over the central and lower Yukon Valley, a temperature of 36 below having been reported at Nulato and 20 below at Unalakleet. The Yukon River at Ruby closed at 7:30 p.m., November 13 and the Idiatrod River at Iditarod has frozen over, while Crooked Creek reported a heavy run of ice in v.he Kuskokwim River.
