OPEN EVENINGS! OPEN EVENINGS! The Bon Marche Dept. Store Two days remain for Christmas shopping and indica-| tions are they will be the busiest Juneau has experienced in several years. In order to accommodate their customers, the majority of merchants are putting on extra lep and | will remain open after the usual time so that every one! will have ample time to supply Christmas needs. Throughout the town the spirit of Christmas ])L'l'-} es and homes are aglitter with holiday | every business establishment can be found an excellent supply of goods to fill every need and desire. | For days the stores have been the mecca of shoppers ;mdi from now on until Tuesday night it promises to be a' meates, and decorations procession. The toy shops were never more sparkling and inviting than in 1935, and on the counters can be found virtually everything possible to make a child happy, and, of course, all direct from Santa Claus’' shop at the North Pole. The jolly old fellow surely has done a good job of it this season, if the goods on display in Juneau stores are a criterion. Depicting the true Christmas spirit of the city, com- munity singing will be held this afternoon around the community yule tree in Triangle Place. Here, will be reflected Juneau at its best as the hundreds join to cele- brate in song the great occasion of Christmas. Evidence that Juneau residents have been at it for some days is revealed in the substantial business reported by the stores and the report of Postmaster Albert Wile that 600 pounds of letter mail and 314 tons of parcel post left on the North Sea alone and other vessels have been taking equally large shipments for points Outside. The shopping for friends Outside is over and now Juneau folk settle down to the business of Christmas at home. For these last days’ rush the business houses have prepared and stand ready to supply every customer. A look around the stores will convince any one. > — = —_— (—] > [ oo [—] [ .
