The three mariners lay at anchor rdown beyond repair and their skiff washed overboard for nearly two days before help arrived. Upon leaving Juneau Saturday the Betty Ross went to Limestone Inlet where the three men intended to hunt goats, but in the absence of any sign of game they turned back and started for Auk Bay where the gas- boat was to be put away for the win- ter. Near Point Hilda the engine broke down, and'while the mariners were investigating the extent of the engine trouble one of them noticed | that a frayed rope-end marked the £pot where they had last seen their | sKiff. ““The Betty Ross drifted into the head of Youngs Bay and when only about 300 yards offshore the anchor was cast. Watches were appointed but no other craft appeared until yes- terday afternoon when Bill Watson arrived in a row boat. Officer Junge started out with Watson to row to Horse and Colt Islands to obtain help, when Ed Jahnke arrived in his gasboat. Junge returned to the Betty Ross and the boat was towed to Auk Bay, arriving there at 6:30 p.m. e .- ATTENTION “HAYFEVER” PLAY CAST The members of the cast of “Hayfever” will' give a party at the t | Parish Hall on Wednesday evening, the "18th, after the performance, for members of the Juneau Drama @b ‘and their friends. % There will be dancing, entertain- ment, and refreshments.
