B. Phil- lips, Roll Call Chairman. This sum, slightly over half the 1935. quota, is considerably less than half of last year's collection. As yet, no reports have been re- ceived from outlying districts. Commenting upon the &pparent fajlure to raise sufficient funds, Mr. Phillips said today: “We are con- fident we shall raise the quota— $1,000, before we are through. Juneau has never yet failed the Red Cross, and certainly her contributions have always reaped a rich return in civic development. Our one anxiety is that we complete our collections during !the time allotted us in the national 1dr1ve—t.bat, is, before Thanksgiving.” Should the quota not be reached [by that time, however, Mr. Phillips’ expresed the will of the entire com- ® | mittee to continue the drive until il.he quota is achieved. 1 “This money is not going to an- swer national emergencies,” mem- | bers of the committee reiterated to- |day. “Everything contributed by | each individual above the initial 50 | cents remains in Juneau. Our quota is intended to fit our Juneau needs; |and the knowledge that such a need | exists should stimulate all employed persons in contributing what they !can toward its fulfillment.” | Persons missed by Red Cross so- | licitors are asked to send in their i donations to one of the following: Diamond Engagement Ring - $85 Capture her heart with this large, bril- liant: ston’e set in 18-kt. white gold.
