C., April 29.| The Deep Sea Pishermens' Union | @ oranch here voted Saturday to de-| clare a strike in dispute with the Prince Rupert Local of the Halibut | Vessel Owners’ Association over Jraring proceeds of halibut livers. | Thae fishermen anncunced they were open to negotiate a settle- ment. However, they declared that the halibut boats here are being manned and operated by the boat | owners and they consider this un- fair. Actually, no men are involved in the strike vote other than those| already refusing to work on the| boats, it is said. The point of dispute arose sev- eral weeks agp when owners de- manded that they be given a fifth fore the gross amount is divided among the crew. Previously the boat owner was not given a honus. | The fishermen desire a continua- | tion of this latter policy; although | they indicated their willingness l\), submit the question to arbitration. | S e NOTICE | A meeting of all persons inter- | ested in the Juneau Rifle Range will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, in the American Legion D\Ago\l;. —adv. eee ' DAILY CMPILL WANT ADS #AY!
