The sailing time was advanced to allow the Legislators to hold the final session of their biennial meet- - ing early last night and boardthe southbound vessel. YOUR ALASKA PULET GOES T0 SEATTLE, BUYING TRIP Nome Merchant Aboard Vnctorla for South—Re- ports on Conditions Antonio Polet, Seward Peninsula’s leading merchant, with his prin- cipal place of business at Nome, is a passenger on the steamer Vic- toria going south on a buying trip, accompanied by his wife. They will make their headquarteérs at the Senator Apartments, Seattle, and expect to return to Nome on the first steamer, sailing about June 1. Mr. Polet left Nome on March 6. He reports that Nome rapidly re- built but there is now a shortage of nails, lumber, plasterboard, celo- tex, etc. There is also a shortage in some food commodities but there are enough staples to carry the residents . through the winter.
