Oscar K. Allen issued a call turday for a special session of e state legislature to convene Sunday night to enact legislation affecting tax measures, relief: nnd other subjects 1:30 o'clock, when members will meet with Mrs. R. B. Lesher at the Salvation Army Hall on Willough- by Avenue, to attend to the re- pairing, mending, and wrapping of Christmas toys for the children | who are patients at the Govern- ment Hospital. A large number of club women is expected to turn out for this event which isone of the features-of the lub’s annual Christmas program of welfare work in Juneau. Mrs. Lesher has announced that there still remains a shortage of toys, and would appreciate having any- one who can donate anything of this nature call her or some other g member of the committee before &F tomorrow noon. She especially de- sires stamped pieces of embroidery work and other busy work material, and will gladly call for anything that is usuable in this line of ma- terial. Books, games, puzzle§, and toys § of all kinds will be most acceptable, she states, as there is a large num- ber of the little folks in the fuber- cular ward, and the committee wishes to remember each one as substantially as possible. For many of them these gifts will be the only Christmas they will have, and for that reason, no effort will be spared to make the treat satisfac- tory in all respects.
