Nov. §.—They are prospecting in North' Dakota— not for gold, oil or gems—but for gravel, so motorists in the state may | ride in greater comfort. Through the hills and over the plains, prospectors follow a trail ages old and rich' in deposits of gravel, crushed by the mass of mov- ing ice in the ege of glaciers. Trained in the art of gravel-field | detection, these bands of men are employed by the state for no other | purpose. Daily they search that North -Dakota motorists may ride more comfortably. From their labors has come the saving of a fortune for the state— more than $1,000,000 in costs of | gravel. Once North Dakota paid from five o | to 15 cents a yard for gravel. The o | cost now is as little as two cents a o | yard, according to J. N. Roherty, re- o | search engineer of the state high- | way commission. | ——————— SHOP IN JUNEAU! ol | Sides Values to $7.50 $3.75 BIC CHIFFON While they. last Worth $1.00 < for 75¢ flWIWllllflllllfllflllfllfl“flllIIIIHII NEW GOODS BEAUTIFUL SILK DRESSES MADE OF FINER CREPES Black, Caraoca, Brown up to 44 ACIUAL VALUE $19.50 Special $11.75 Other Dress Barg’c.‘lins Values to $11.50 $6.75 fifimfimml Snappy, Tailored SWAGGER SUITS Sizes 18 to 44 ACTUAL VALUES $27.50 Colbré——Browrl, Grey, Navy, Black, Flaked, Brown Check , Special $17.75 A $29.50 NEW. €OATS FUR TRIMMED ‘Special Cle Méhday-—Armistice Day nummnilllmnnnmmnnuunnnmulnmmnmnnmnmnnnmnmm|nmmunnnmmnm|mmmlmnnmflmmn|mmmmummmmn 'fllflflIIIIIIHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIII|I|III|"IIIIIIIIIlIIIIIIIIIIIIIHIIIIIIIIIllIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINIIHIIIIlmlIIIIIIIIIIIIIHIIHIIII|IIIII|IIIIIIIHIIIIIIIII!IIl“fl ISING SALE JUST OPENED 2 Blg Special Buys $19.50 $2.95 Silk Blouses SPECIAL $1.95 %mliuwflwmmmnmmmmmmmmmmnmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm||||m|||1||1||mn|||ml|||||||mmm|n|mmn|mmmnun|mlu||||||||||||||mmmnm|
