LOCAL DATA N IN JULY TRADE {Canned Salmon Moves Into First with Shipments at $2,710,291 For the first time this year, gold took second place in the list of Al- askan commodities shipped to the | States during the month of July. This was disclosed in the monthly | commerce summary issued today by |James J. Connors, Collector of Customs. Canned salmon moved into first place, which it will hold until late i {in the year, with a volume of 21,- 640,585 pounds having a declared value of $2710291. Gold ship- ments were worth $2,114,072. The total for the month was $5,437,468. There was a noticeable increase in all fisheries industries. Fresh fish showed the effects of | the shipping strike, now ended, |and the troller's strike, about to iend. The total of fresh fish ship- ments was but $9,657. | .
