DOWN THE LAST TIME, I'M BY THE HAIR/ TAGS ON RECAPTURED HALIBUT SHOW TRAVEL (Ketchikan Chronicle) The recapture of two tagged hali- but on Alaskan banks have been reported to the International Fish- eries Commission by Captain L. F. Sunderland of the schooner Sen- tinel and Captain L. P. Sjong of | the Mars. Both men received acknow!ledge- ment from the commission, accom- panied by interesting matter re- garding the histories of the tags. The fish taken by the Sentinel was caught 32 miles from its re- lease location 532 days after hav. ing been tagged. It measured 47! inches when tagged and 49 1/3 inches when recaptured. A larger difference exists in the statistics of the fish caught by the Mars. It was caught 982 miles from its location of release 1876 days after having been released. During its period of freedom it grew from 35 2/5 ifches to 59 inches in length. Both fish were taken late last month and were landed here, measured and weighed and their tags removed.
