N T R SOOTER CASE ENDED THIS MORNING: JURY STILL DELIBERATING The case against Dan Sooter, charged with violation of the Na- tional Prohibition Act, was con- cluded in the Federal District Court at 11 a.m. today, when, after hear- ing the closing argument of G. W. Folta, Assistant United States At- torney and receiving the instruc- tions of Judge G. F. Alexander, the jury retired to its rcom for delib- eration. No verdict had been re- turned at 2:30 p.m George B. Grigsbhy, who defended ooter, waived making any closing argument. Sooter is accused of having permitted the use of his| in and the establishment and operation of a still by moonshiners on his place two miles south of Thane. The second murder case of the ) |present trial term is slated to begin in the District Court tomorrow morning. Harry DeGroot, indicted for murder in the first degree for the fatal shooting of Abe Hanson at Chichagof last Winter, will go on trial then.
