Adolph Mitrovich | | had gone fo Texas, and Pete Jelich | had sought the gold fields' of Al-| aska and the Yukon. | In advertisements in the papers announcing the concert of the Dolores Mitrovich Ballet Company, Mr. Jelich’recognized the name of his old friend, wrote to the young artist’ and discovered that she was his daughter. Her reply, however, brought the sad news that her father had died two years before in San ‘Antonio. Receives Photograph Since their correspondence began, | Mr. Jelich has received séveral let- ters from: Miss Mitfovich and re- cently a ‘lovely photograph of her, inscribed to ‘her ‘friend with “Dal- matian cordiality.” Though Dolores 'Mitrovich was |born in San. Antonio, Texas, she | received 'most of her education abroad. As a child, she studied under masters of the ballet in Italy, and when only thirteen, made her debut as prima ballerina at the Royal San Carlo Opera House in Naples. At La Scala, Milan, La Fenice, Venice, the Royal Opera House of Turin, Carlo Felice The- atre in Genoa and other theatres where only artists are seen or hZard, Her success continued. Attains Success One of her outstanding successes was “her sofourn in Egypt, where she appedred as prima ballerina with the Italian Grand Opera at Cairo. This engagement was under the auspices of King Emmanual III, of Italy, and the American girl was chosen to appear with this company representing Italian art abroad. While In Cairo, King Faud II, of Egypt, proclaimed her court dancer. 3 } The pictiire of this Tovely young daughter of his old friend, and her charming letters to him are mak- | | ing winter days brighter than usual star and director. zona” and “The Cisco Kid.” these = pictures were highly ‘suc- cessful. Lowe declares that his present characterization, shown for the last time tonight at the Capi- tol Theatre, is the strongest role of his screen career. His supporting cast includes Eve-| lyn Brent, Constance Cummings, and Dorothy Peterson. for Pete Jelich.
