(6) months from the 1 date of this notice, DATED at Juneau, Alaska, this 5th day of. October, 1832, FRANK ‘A. BOYLE, ator. - FISHERMEN IN Iblack cod livers to the San Juan pointed administrator of the Estate! NEARBY WATERS DOING BETTER Recent Advances in Prices Encourage Boat Own- ers and Crews With the approach of the win- ter season, fishermen in neighbor- ing waters are doing better at present than they hsve been at any previous time this year. Pric- es of both king salmon and hali- but have advanced in the past few weeks, and boats, encouraged by the stronger market, are mak-, ing generous catches. Numerous small craft are oper- ating out of Port Alexander in waters off Cape Ommaney, aeccord- ing to Capt. Paul Kegel, skipper of the motorship Pacific, which returned to Juneau yesterday from her regular voyage to Port Alex- ander. Sales Made Recently “Fishermen have no difficulty in disposing of their catches to buyers’ boats on the grounds,” said Judge V. A. Paine, who recently made a business visit to his fur farm mear Kake. “The top price of 8 cents a pound for Cape Om- maney king salmon is a ‘break’ for the fishermen, the first they have had this season. All the boats of the large fleet at Port Alex- ander are busier now than at any other time this year.” The 5-cent-a-pound top for hal- jbut has resulted in greater re- celuts in Juneau in the past week. Market demand in the States, of course, is the cause of improv- | ed conditions in the fishing in- dustry here. 22,700 Pounds Shipped Tiwenty-two thousand, seven hun- dred pounds of fish were sent to Seattle on the last southbound steamship. The entire quantity was shipped by the Juneau Cold Storage Company, which has buy- ing boats in waters off Cape Om- maney and which has been paying 5 cémts @ pound for first grade halibut and 3 cents a pound for second grade. TFive boxes, containing a fotal of 1700 pounds of frozen king sal- mon were sent on the Cold Stor- age's own account, and 43 boxes, containing 21,000 pounds, of fresh halibut were shipped by the Cold Storage to the San Juan Fish and Packing Company. | The Cold Storage also semt 16 {cans, containing .620 pounds, of company. ——-’."‘.— - . | TIDES TOMORROW } .
