Robert Montgomery, will be shown for the last times fonight at the Capitol theatre. In this hilarious comedy, some Te- are pictured. In one of these, Miss Shearer and Montgomery are seen scaling sheer peaks, guided by Jean Her- sholt, enacting the part of a Swiss mountaineer. For these scenes the company jouneyed to Glacier National Park, in the northern part of Montana, almost on the Canadian gborder line. 8,000 Feet Above Sea Here, some 8,000 feet above sea level, camera and ‘sound: equip- meitt had to-be packed in & burro train, while the players and crews had tc do most of ‘the climbing by tortuous ‘trails, across the chasms and up the sides of steep precipices. In this region, regard- ed as among the most beautiful of the national parks, the snow the' year round and many of the trails were still iey, despite the 'summer sun’s warming rays. At that altitude sound recording was found to be excellent, due to the extreme rarity of the air and almost total lack of extraneous sound vibrations or other disturb- ances in the clear atmosphere. Rebounding of Dialogue The one difficulty, however, was in preventing ‘“rebounding” of dia- logue. First trials resulted in the words being recorded from three to six times because of echoes. While echoes were natural enough in an Alpine. setting, it was not at all satisfactory to have the dia- logue indistinguishable. It was the echoes and scattered them that werk could be carried on. Included in the cast of the ro- mantic farce are Reginald Denny, Una Merkél, Jean ~Hersholt, and George Davis. The picture was directed by Sidney Pranklin. ———————— GRETA GARBO 1S PRODUCING STOCKHOLM, Aug. 4—Greta Giarbo has started producing films for Sweden.
