YULETIDE TREES GLOW TONIGHT FOR CHILDREN Public Parties This Even- ing, Home Celebra- tions in Morning Most of Juneau's Christmas will be held this evening the early hours before day- light tomorrow. Public celebrations will start with Santa Claus in attendance at George Brothers' Grocery store, at 7 o'clock this evening. To this event all boys and girls on Gastineau Channel are invited. There will be a present ior every- one of them. The Presbyterian Sunday school 1 have its Christmas tree party the Presbyterian Church be- ginning at 7:30 this evening. Santa Claus will have gifts for the Sun- day School children. Indian Boys and Girls The Government Indian school, the Alaska Native Brotherhood and the Alaska Native Sisterhood will cooperate in a Christmas tree fes- to be held in the Alaska Avenue. Santa Claus will enter the hall at 7 o'clock to start the dis- tribution of presents among the In- dian children. The great majority of Christmas tree celebrations will begin in the hemes of the city before daylight temorrow morning. IS SHOT DOWN IN ROBBERY IN SEATTLE STORE Ous Bandit b Fatally Wounded—Second Man Escapes with Cash SEATTLE, Dec. 24.—One of two men who held-up a drug store last night, was killed afer he had ordered Mrs, Elmer J. Knauss to get away from the cash register. Knauss, who was in a rear room of the drug store, began firing as | as robbers left with $100. One of | the robbers was wounded low in |the body. He staggered to an automobile outside, got in and drove away. The car was wrecked a short distance from the drug store. The wounded man was found in the car and was being rushed to a hospital when he died en- route. He is coming to Juneau again Sat- urday. For one of his parties that day, he has leased the Capitol Theatre and at 1 o'clock in the afternoon he will give a free show at which he wants all boys and girls on Gastineau Channel to be present. Good things to eat will be pro- vided. The Rice and Ahlers Com- pany, which knows all about the party, is sure everybody will have a fine time. Santa Claus will be at the Moose Hall at 8 o'clock Saturday even- ing. After a program of enter- tainment, he will distribute presents from a Christmas tree to all chil- dren.
