Yesterday the Yakobi, Capt. Thomas Smith, went from here to the Inlet. She spoke the Pheasant. The craft is engaged in freight and pas- senger traffic along the Inlet. She will be back here in a few days. The Yakobi returned to this port yesterday afternoon. George Messerschmidt and Lloyd Bayers went to the Taku district last week, and were expected back in Juncau last Monday. Bad weath- er is believed to have prevented their return. Yesterday the power- boat Ventura, Capt. George Bag- gan, left Juneau to bring them back. ROBOT PILOT 1S PERFECTED Flies Plane with Eighteen Passengers Aboard Over East NEW YORK, Nov. 20. — A big plane, carrying 18 passengers has made a flight over the Eastern Air Transport route, piloted by a robot in a small metal box. Elmer Perry, Jr, inventor, de- clares the robot pilot, a gyroscopic instrument, is the greatest thing ever added to aviation. The human pilot on the plane can take charge at any time it is desired. After the human pilot takes the plane into the air, the robot can be. made to perform all functions of piloting, keeping the plane on a straight course of flying and at a proper altitude.
