WAHTO BOARDING HOUSE MRS. G. WAHTO, Prop. ARNOLD’S BOOTERY FRONT STREET GARNICK’S GROCERY 224 SEWARD ST., PHONE 174 __THE DAILY AMSKA EMPIRE, WEDNESDAY, NOV. 11, 1931. HIRTEEN YEARS have gone by since the signing of the armistice which ended a four years’ struggle for world freedom and peace. These passing years have seen many Al changes in our civilization, post-war changes and readjustments and the furthering of civ- ilization to a higher plane. In our ceaseless efforts at progressing we must not forget those who have made this progress possible. We must remember that they laid down their ploughs, their shovels, their books and their drawing boards, to fight for their country, and they never took them up again. The war is a long time past now and its underlying motives have grown vague with the passing of the years. But the memory of those who “went west” in order that their genera- tion and the generations to follow might live in peace burns as brightly as ever. It is the white light of love that burns in each of our hearts, that beats in our brain. It is this great human emotion that does not let us forget, that brings home to us the true meaning of mankind. So we, who have signed our names be- low, remember those boys and the sacrifices they made, and as we face east for a brief two minutes we offer them our gratitude, our reverence and prayers.
