The itinerary and objective of the party were received by Charles Goldstein, well-known local busi- ness man. The local Chamber of Commerce has npt been officially advised of the visitation, but some time ago a representative of the Portland organization was here and informed Secretary G. H. Walmsley of its plans for the trip. The local Chamber, Mr, Walmsley said, for- mally invited the party to pay the town a visit. ‘The Portland party, Mr. Gold- stein was advised, will leave home | June 22 and spend two days be- tween there and Vancouver. The objective, said a letter received by him was the establishment of a direct steamship service between Portland and Alaska and a closer relationship between Alaska com- munities and Portland. REV.
